I know there are just as many (if not more) awesome positive things happening at local and global levels. And I wonder if it is possible to produce a more positive balanced newspaper in that way.

So both gen1 folks need to explicitly use positive framing (instead of "non-x" wording), but gen1 folks also need to encourage gen2+ folks to explicitly use positive self-framing, and perhaps even explicitly discourage "non-x" self-framing.

I was able to do that because I keep a decent personal log and going back to it I was able to look back and pick either the most positive thing from a past day, or something simple & positive

what we haven’t yet done is to update the definition / intro to be primarily positive. we need a good writer to attempt to integrate and cleverly summarize the most potent of the existing positive why reasons.

Nevermind that "not everyone can login" because that's the point. One reason those Web 2.0 sites were primarily positive is that they were dominated by a set of positive optimistic folks with shared values

aaronpk, [manton] I have mixed feelings on "catch the eye of people" who are into the term "fediverse". With a few positive exceptions (like folks we know, some tech press), much of the "fediverse fandom" is highly negative, reactive, ranty, and bordering on cultish. I'd like to find a way to help IndieWeb folks find positive connections, without getting buried in rando rant replies.
