It's definitely an aligned enough group and subset of the SocialCG that I see positive cross-pollination opportunities

[tantek] not sure what "aggregate share behaviours" means 😅 Perhaps this is another "cultural" difference though. I'd say well over half, if not over three-quarters, of things shared to any of my various timelines are from people saying "hey, this is cool, check it out!". The rest are normally instances of people saying "hey, this is problematic, don't do this/here's what's wrong", so it's definitely not 100% positive, but certainly majority

capjamesg, it's entirely possible that if a new forum is initially populated with people from the current chat / discuss channels, that it will maintain a lot of the overall positive/welcoming culture, which may provide a foundation/baseline for self-moderation

at best in such cases the "original" set of positive interested folks move on to something else, often something hosted by a silo (e.g. there was a mass migration from phpBB forums to various Facebook Groups in the 2000s and 2010s)
