I've written to the help email but I think I'm just going to get that paid WordPress.com account and put the blog there. It's $15/month which is only $5 more than micro.blog, and at least then I can have a comment system that I don't have to know code to install and operate. My question is: can I still do things like IndieAuth while my blog is hosted at WordPress.com?

Essentially, you get a hidden feed that you can add posts to, and then add that to micro.blog

And I'm thinking out loud, but maybe I should just make a change - the Quick Start page highlights cost as a major reason for services like micro.blog (which I disagree with - the major reason is eliminating dev work for normal people that want to focus on writing) and then puts price at the very bottom of the comparison chart

anyone else think the Am I On The IndieWeb Yet? post is worth IndieNewsing? or perhaps Indienewsing a brief response pointing out micro.blog and other /quickstart options?

Yeah, micro.blog is pretty much what Sergey describes:

↩️ Fortunately you're a nerd. Though if you want a turnkey indieweb service, try http://micro.blog

From Lens' Getting Started: "You're going to need to have Git and Docker Compose installed on your system..." Sure, that's gonna be easier than getting started on Mastodon or micro.blog

probably not what micro.blog would use in production, but feel free to check it out as an example

[KevinMarks] That’s true, no h-feed yet. Haven’t figured out a great way to incorporate that into the way Micro.blog currently thinks about feeds.
