We did roll out a prototype API server… The idea is this could be used for simple apps, or someone could clone it and spin up their own server and data, which is likely what Micro.blog will do. This is currently only loaded with a couple cities like Portland and Austin for testing. https://api.latl.ong/places/nearby?latitude=45.522186&longitude=-122.672948

↩️ The folks at http://micro.blog have Sunlit (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/sunlit/id1334727769). Could be useful if you're thinking of going down the IndieWeb route.

IndieAuth -> personal domain -> rel=me to micro.blog profile to discover "which micro.blog user are you"

right, and if it detects that I do have a micro.blog (e.g. tantek.com has a rel=me link to my micro.blog/t) then it can use that!

Ideally you could sign in with IndieAuth and it would use Microsub if there’s no Micro.blog account.

That makes sense, I'm wondering about IndieAuth (even via my own website) as a method of identifying your micro.blog username/identity rather than email

[tantek] Yeah, this is something I’d like to improve… We support publishing to any Micropub server, but it requires Micro.blog to get started, so you’ve gotta get signed in first.

hmm I'm already stuck on /Sunlit app launch: "Enter your Micro.blog email address." — I literally don't remember which address I used, and wasn't expecting that as part of activation/sign-up flow.
