  • <jeremycherfas> Oh, good idea to limit the original upload then to the (max possible future) display size then ;) Hugo has some good photo processing features but exif support isn't that great the last time I looked. I wanted to use it for filtering.

  • https://www.11ty.dev/docs/performance/#build-performance Hugo is basically #1 in terms of build time performance. Does a few seconds matter to you if you are building a relatively smaller site just a few times a week or something? Maybe not. But I think its super cool.

  • I use Hugo. Ive loved how little Ive had to mess around with it, just like its a static site generator that works super fast, there are some hairy bits around upgrading versions but many just have found they dont need to update their hugo version at all

If you're talking about saving storage in the /public folder, I think it doesn't matter what size you give it, it'll crop it into the sizes you decide and only output those into /public, so the full size never appears there; only in your project directory. Are you

  • Trying to get to grips with how my Hugo gallery deals with resized images. For iphone images it produces smaller sizes, two for landscape and three for portrait. It also uploads the full sized 4032 x 3024, but as far as I can tell on my large screen, it never gets to display that full size image. So, maybe I should downsample all images to, say 2016 x 1512, before handing them off to Hugo. That would save a bit of storage. Is it worth

  • Nah not as meaningful as WCAG. It was a Markdown editor FOSS app called Retext and also contributed to the Hugo theme I'm using
