↩️ [timothy_chambe] context was cambridgeport901 getting suspended from indieweb.social and not knowing why or how to appeal. They're a longstanding positive member/contributor here in the community so it was a bit of a shock: https://chat.indieweb.org/2022-11-16#t1668608507319100

^ going to raise the point that we need better guides for how to implement Webmentions to encourage more positive interactions by default, and fewer negative interactions by default (spam, harassment etc.)

It was quite impactful really, my interactions with the original Diaspora four taught me a lot about the power of positive interactions in community, they were in stark contrast to so many other OSS / open standards "communities"

GWG, if all you're doing is a "View this venue on Foursquare" link, my guess is that it would either not attract much attention, or if anything, would be seen as mildly positive since it's an inbound link that could direct some traffic.

new blogging authoring feature idea: when you open your blog post creation UI in the morning, it flips a coin and sets your blog in a light mode or a dark mode, and prompts you with "You woke up and chose constructive/destructive this morning", and then helps you write something positive or something critical

Another positive thing from this article is that the combination of IndieWebify.me and the [IndieMark] "Levels" helped provide a roadmap of sorts that gave a relatively direct path to follow, a sense of achievement ("*Level 2 IndieWeb citizen*"), and a clear idea of next steps: "What I’m currently missing is a way of having IndieWeb conversations (IndieWeb level 3, according to IndieWebify.me)"
