i am in the process of implementing webmentions for my self hosted hugo site (served by LAMP). Since I have a VPS - i'd like to try not rely on 3rd party services. My starting point was https://www.amitgawande.com/indiewebify-hugo-website/ ... I've adopted his open sourced theme and it looks like i have crossed level 1.

Oh, interesting, does any Jekyll/Hugo (whatever microblog was based on) theme work, jgmac1106? I can totally see why people end up picking ones without mf2 then

yes, I also suggested in the Slack we add a paragraph about mf2 in the theme customization tutorial, many people just grab off the shelf Hugo themes
