Okay. I've actually enjoyed hugo because I could public right from within emacs. SImilarly, org2blog enables publishing posts from Emacs... I was wondering how I could set 'kinds' from there.

KartikPrabhu: Thank you. I was aware of the post. I wanted to actually use the webmentions.io app hosted locally for a hugo website. In any case, I have paused that and switched back to wordpress. Thanks to some excellent help in the #indieweb-wordpress channel , i have almost got it all set up.

i've been at this for hours and cannot find a single clue ... would really appreciate help. I started out hoping to get my hugo site setup with webmentions.. I could send out webmentions, but finally went to wordpress to use the plugins and get started.

yes, IIRC hugo is smart about only rebuilding pages that change, so there's probably a hook you can hook in to for that

ok. I'm using hugo to generate the webpages. Any advice on how I could implement sending a webmention, only when the source page changes? Should it be hooked to hugo ?
