tantek, I saw the alternate link (and relinked it) and it's still not working for me for some reason. Is there a privacy or audience setting on it perhaps?

And most will have the rel-canonical URL on them and not my URL which would be a rel-alternate link on the original.

That applies to the entire height of the page. Like jgmac1106_ said, you might want to alternate different background colors on sections, instead.
