what we haven’t yet done is to update the definition / intro to be primarily positive. we need a good writer to attempt to integrate and cleverly summarize the most potent of the existing positive why reasons.

sensiblemn: it can depend on the phase of a movement. in the beginning most movements start as a reaction to some (set of) pain points, and thus a declaration of independence of sorts. only later, when the movement begins to gain its own self-supporting identity does it have enough to describe in primarily positive framing, like a constitution.

the high level point is this - if a code of conduct is more about negative behaviors than positive bheaviors, then IMO it has the wrong framing, and will likely *hurt* a community in the longterm (provide discouragement/fear to new people)
