  • [manton] have you ever tried posting to a Friendica group from http://micro.blog, eg https://venera.social/profile/activitypubblueskybridge/conversations ? you follow it, then mention it in a post, and it reposts that post

  • [snarfed] FYI to follow up on that languages discussion last week, I ended up adding contentMap to my ActivityPub JSON to make Mastodon happy, plus a new http://Micro.blog setting for what to use as your default language. I still think Mastodon needs to be improved here, but for now at least the posts look better.

  • [pfefferle] By the way, I added that `url` field earlier and @-mentions from http://WP.com works great to http://Micro.blog now. I decided to just make the `id` and `url` match for now, until I fully understand how other clients might use it.

  • [pfefferle] Great, thanks for looking into it! I can add `url` too… Need to figure out what value makes sense for http://Micro.blog there.

  • [manton] I found the problem, why @-mentions of http://micro.blog profiles do not work: we require a `url` field and http://micro.blog has only `id` I will add that as fallback with the next release!

  • [manton.org] Just published a new Core Intuition episode about ActivityPub support in WordPress.com and its impact on Micro.blog, plus a discussion of Humane and the potential for new AI-based devices. (https://www.manton.org/2023/10/14/just-published-a.html)

  • [snarfed] Okay, it didn’t work. So whatever is broken with http://Micro.blog must be similar with Bridgy Fed.

  • [tantek] Oh. I guess from Mastodon you could block the http://micro.blog domain name. But if someone is using a custom domain name, that’s probably not going to work, unless Mastodon rejects ActivityPub requests that contain that domain name anywhere.

  • [manton] I mean from the other side. Like a Mastodon user that doesn't want replies or follows from http://micro.blog users.

  • [snarfed] [tantek] Yes, in http://Micro.blog you essentially “delete” your ActivityPub username and that stops posts going out or coming in to your account.
