@burgeonlab I do not use a shortcode. I am using the Hugo Gallery theme with so far no tinkering and all it produces is the gallery. It always includes a copy of the original image, which is a good thing for large screens, but it certainly does not need to be larger than 1512 X 2016 pixels.

[jeremycherfas]: I use Hugo and have looked into image shortcodes, Hugo pipes to process images while working on my own site. If you're talking about saving storage in the /public folder, I think it doesn't matter what size you give it, it'll crop it into the sizes you decide and only output those into /public, so the full size never appears there; only in your project directory. Are you

Trying to get to grips with how my Hugo gallery deals with resized images. For iphone images it produces smaller sizes, two for landscape and three for portrait. It also uploads the full sized 4032 x 3024, but as far as I can tell on my large screen, it never gets to display that full size image. So, maybe I should downsample all images to, say 2016 x 1512, before handing them off to Hugo. That would save a bit of storage. Is it worth

Hi there, I'm Naty and I have been slowly implementing bits of indieweb into my Hugo blog over the past few months. I decided to make a user wiki page today, hope I did it correctly. I only just saw that I should have said hi here first...

Very helpful to have your perspective. I guess that building the site in Hugo means that if I do fall foul of bandwidth, I can move it somewhere that is either cheaper or free. From what I've read, Cloudflare is a good option for that.

Coming here on the suggestion of [aciccarello] to canvas opinions on a host for my proposed static photo portfolio site. I'm planning to build with Hugo and have looked at Github Pages, Cloudflare Pages and, now, Netlify. Netlify does look like a good option on the free tier. I am wondering whether I can stay in the free tier. I do not understand what 1 production build per month means. Does it mean I can update the site only
