Version 0.704 of Web::Mention, my Webmention library for Perl, should show up on CPAN in a bit; just some small fixes. Thank you to @avian2 and @cpan_author for recent contributions! https://metacpan.org/pod/Web::Mention

↩️ Of course, IndieWeb != “indie web” – which is what you wrote. But I just don’t want anyone confusing it with Small Tech especially after how we were mocked and ridiculed by those folks when we started out with http://Ind.ie.

↩️ “IndieWeb” is different to having a peer to peer system that bridges to the web and uses it as an untrusted, always node. IndieWeb isn’t fundamentally incompatible with or a radical departure from the centralised web. Small Tech is.

“what do you have there Watson?” “It’s a word wide web logger” “Too long of a phrase.” “It’s a web log”. “Still too long, think small Watson”. “It’s a blog” “Perfect”

I'm starting to hate that whole GDPR crap. For us small web page operators who want to do their own little cool stuff without harming anyone suffer from the trash of others, big and powerful. But I do not want to start any discussion here now, certainly not in the wordpress chat.

This might be just my personal bubble, but I have never seen such a surge in small personal (micro-) blogs and feeds. No matter if it's level 6 #indieweb'bed or classic old school web – I like it.

↩️ : The #IndieWeb community should be really proud of itself. You are helping to build a better web everyday and I hope the small community takes off, in fact I want it to take over everything. (https://quickthoughts.jgregorymcverry.com/s/14mlt1)

if you really do want to write a lot of your own code for a small web site, serverless can definitely be great! but others like heroku, netlify, glitch, zeit, etc are _way_ easier and more appropriate than lambda
