What exactly is Known Pro? Is there a better version than the one I'm using??? Most web hosts will do it for pretty cheap since it's a LAMP stack. I suspect that if you shop around you can do it for $4-5/month and maybe even better if you do a year or longer or get discounts for starting new accounts. The cheapest I've had is on a small plan for $30/year.

↩️ People who care about decentralization, small web, users-controlling-their-data urgently need to come up with a catchy alternative name for that (or go with a good existing one - I like IndieWeb personally) - because web3 is indistinguishable from blockchain grift at this point

Because we’ve been vilified and attacked by them off and on for the last 7 years. Because we’re not afraid to say fuck Google and fuck surveillance capitalism and no, we can’t all just get along. https://indieweb.org/small_web <– fuck off PS. ↩️ Nice thread. Speaking of, I present you the "web0" initiative (fair warning from Aral Balkan and the IndieWeb/small-web crowd): https://web0.small-web.org/

aside, in going through some old papers, I found the original "Web 2.0" concept map papers / exercises that O'Reilly printed out and handed out back in the day, before "What is Web 2.0" got big. Ironically (or appropriately?) even the concept of Web 2.0 itself was somewhat (small) crowd-sourced.

Webmentions are my way of finally letting Disqus go! I implemented a small Javascript-based project to easily show… https://twitter.com/i/web/status/1424461659624648724

↩️ You could almost think of the indieweb as 20 people doing their own version of the semantic web for a small number of data classes and interactions.
