  • if existing software/services already have "unpublished" as a literal label in their UI, that is reason enough to document a specific page for it with those examples to start with

  • All new posts have that state by default. The UI has a "Publish" button and a "Save and Keep Unpublished" button. Once it's published, though, there isn't a "verb" button to unpublish it; instead under the post settings you can check the "Unpublished" box.
