@[benatwork] sorry I didn't see you in here. I have reinstalled known on my self hosted setup and eveything is working outside of my ability import the xml from my former wordpress. It yields a 403 error.

@ChrisAldrich if somebody was going to start from scratch and set up an indieweb-friendly presence at a new domain, what would you suggest for a platform? Wordpress, bristling with indieweb plugins? withknown? Something else?

If you're seeking an alternative to Twitter, I recommend @joinmastodon. If you want something that will work nicely for both short & long posts, I recommend @microdotblog or @withknown. If you have a self-hosted WordPress blog, I can help you indiewebify it.

And also, unlike Wordpress with all of it's plugins, how does one edit the header and footer text in Known?

↩️ I use both WordPress with trimmings and WithKnown is lovely out of the box. But unless you enjoy the tinkering/experimenting/learning as a hobby, minimize for admin tax and maximize for fun. @MicroDotBlog is a great turnkey and inexpensive option.

↩️ Ah. I'm still trying to determine what I want to do with my site. It's running on http://Micro.blog right now, but I have a toss up between @Withknown and Wordpress at the moment (Until CofoundryCMS can support Indieweb, that is).

↩️ Thanks, I already run 5 blogs on Wordpress. The issue is getting people to contribute. But I’ll also check out @withknown. The other possibility is putting out a call for articles on specific topics and featuring them as a group on my established blogs.

↩️ Easy to do with @WordPress or even simpler @withknown

↩️ Migrei meu blog este ano pro @WordPress depois de passar por @withknown (do movimento @indiewebcamp) e @koken. Ambos estão praticamente abandonados mas gostava muito do Known. É difícil prever se um CMS vai durar.
