microformats syntax is essentially driven by what seems to be easiest/simplest for web developers, and in microformats2, we've been able to make simplifications/improvements that also simplified parsers as well.

tantek: the mapping is pretty much as expected, but with two little niceties - language inference from @lang attributes and adding rdfs:labels. I'll have to read up on what the current best practice is for HTML-in-RDF.
