  • I'm trying to make the Microformats 2 WordPress plug-in play nice with the Twenty Nineteen default theme. It seems to work, but the display is mangled. Where is a place to start? I'm not a code, but I'm code literate enough to hack the theme's php and css if that's what is required.

  • [chrisaldrich] on the flip side, I'm still looking for input from WordPress (theme) experts on the potential use of additional class names in mf2 h-entry backcompat parsing specifically to get more information from widely deployed WordPress themes - would appreciate your analysis and insights on this issue: https://github.com/microformats/h-entry/issues/7

  • They either have microformats, or they don’t. But that is the same with WordPress themes, is kinda my point. The problem is with dynamically updating HTML written by someone else (theme creator / CMS creator) to add microformats.

  • [jgmac1106] if only the microformats plugin could be smart about that and rather than tell people "You do NOT install microformats", it could do the right thing, detecting perhaps if it is needed or not in such a situation, and quietly doing nothing, perhaps with a notice informing the user that their #indieweb WordPress theme is already taking care of good markup.

  • Has anyone looked at the microformats in the Twenty Nineteen Theme? Or how IndieWeb friendly it is?

  • Okay peeking at microformats plugin I think the author property nested in h-card is easy fix, not injecting dtpublished.... No idea... But think I can do that in the theme
