as a proof of concept and to compare. You need to hold your theme up to another theme. Really the first step has to be native microformats. Yes?

again why I think let’s take inventory of all plug-ins and decide what should live in a theme (microformats, semantic linkbacks, post kinds) anything that does not need an outside shoudl be kept inside.

is it only the permalink that's not so nice? the content shouldn't be different if the microformats are correct in the theme

post kinds plugin adds microformats to the stuff it handles directly. Those like h-entry and h-feed are typically handled by either WP core or the particular theme.

having a child theme isn't the problem, it means your OG theme might conflict with microformats. I think the issue arises becauase you syndicate through JetPack which uses different metadata

@GWG Just wanted to clarify, the Bridgy WordPress plug-in doesn't work for backfeeding, only the web service does. And for the web service to work my WordPress theme needs microformats 2 functionality inbuilt?

[unoabraham]: If the Microformats 2 plugin isn't helping you, I would disable it. It does not work for every theme.
