  • And it doesn't have to be Known to Known.. Webmentions is a W3C standard, makes the web our network. Webmentions do work and look better with microformats. • agreed - a grid for an event is very useful -this isn't arbitrary nesting of events, it is the session grid that's needed, and it's been something we tried to come up with a way to add microformats to before and found it hard because of the implied time and venue from the grid. I think that is what drove the include pattern originally, though that probably is too complex.

  • If you look into microformats, you need some additional classes so that the parser can find the information to pass to Twitter (or anywhere). That might be e-content or u-url or any one of a number of things. As I said, I have only my phone so it is hard to give better guidance.

  • I'm getting a slight feel of java in the bsky lexicons, where arbitrarily nesting things is hard to do, so you define a bunch of things that are almost but not quite the same. Which I suppose is the complement of the 'you can arbitrarily nest things in microformats' problem we hit when trying to write things like xray

  • [indieweb.social/@janboddez] It’s darn hard to set up a somewhat user-friendly #indieweb service.Interoperability with some protocols requires you mix markup (i.e., microformats) with content. The idea behind it was “DRY,” like, cut out the “metacrap,” have your HTML be the single source of truth,... • csarven, I am still not sure if my microformats property for pronouns is at its best yet. But it is really hard to codify language. I think I did the right thing by taking a step back and not try to “fix” it for all systems ever. Though I would be interested to see if anyone has been doing something like it in activitypub.

  • so I have a WordPress theory I want to test...the mf2 plugin never really worked because of older microformats...since editing a theme is hard can I search through my WP files and delete any old mf2 properties and then use the mf2 plugin?
