!tell aaronpk, shaners I am trying to catch up on that conversation, but I also have alternate display for "checkin" vs "note-with-geotag" basically.... I add mp-type to all of my micropub clients, since its a micropub control part not something from the post, If you want to do vendor prefix i would say use mp-<vendor>-type

bret: but they have fundamentally different approaches anyway... an alternate machine readable format (rss/atom) vs embedding machine readable tags into the existing format (microformats). So even if the timeline were different, I would suspect both would have emerged... they just come from different schools of thought (my thoughts anyway)

[ramiro_ruiz] aaronpk I saw the /feeds link and am going to set it up as a standalone page, with links out to my MF2, RSS/Atom, and JSON Feed, so folks can discover the other types of feeds I have. I'm also planning on adding a bit of blurb about how they are marked up with `rel=alternate` so feed readers _should_ be able to automagically pick up the feeds I expose

I never looked at the logs today, but if you have a web site that holds an alternate identity that you have, are those indieweb appropriate? Again, sorry for the non sequitur, but had to ask, because I think I had a Twitter account suspended for "spam" because of the fact it's my alt.

snarfed: if you could either make the p-name and e-content have the same content (possible for Twitter I guess), or make p-summary and p-name have the same content, then that would indicate that the p-name is just an alternate presentation of the body text

" you have multiple language versions of a URL, each language page must identify all language versions, including itself. For example, if your site provides content in French, English, and Spanish, the Spanish version must include a rel="alternate" hreflang="x" link for itself in addition to links to the French and English versions. Similarly, the English and French versions must each...

Right now, my plan is: Update mf2_s to improve markup, update fork of mf2_s that I use I my website to use those markup improvements, rewrite Simple Location(easily my worst plugin), add Bridgy Publish support to Indie Web Actions(which is the one with the alternate Post UI), go back to Post Kinds to deferentiate types.

tantek: ben_thatmustbeme left you a message 2 hours, 22 minutes ago: I have to agree, month names would be clearer. Also, language isn't as much a concern as wikis have a method for alternate language versions of a page, plus translation software will work perfectly well on a month name http://indiewebcamp.com/irc/2016-02-07/line/1454903074408

aaronpk, you linked your atom feed with the following markup: rel="updates alternate". Do still have any idea where the token "updates" came from? It doesn't exist in HTML5, it isn't documented in the microformat registry and all other proposals for feed autodiscovery that I know of had other rel values.
