!tell tantek I have to agree, month names would be clearer. Also, language isn't as much a concern as wikis have a method for alternate language versions of a page, plus translation software will work perfectly well on a month name

hehe I tried to make this not possible by linking to your homepage which is allowed to have rel=alternate instead of home and by linking to their own developer pages where they describe how and why to use <a> instead of <link>

no need for anything visible for Atom/legacy feeds, as anyone who cares about them already uses a legacy reader that can do link rel=alternate discovery on the page

sl007++ thanks for that Firefox alternate stylesheets UI reminder (for EN UI: View -> Page Styles ) - I have a 17 year old example: http://tantek.com/CSS/Examples/codeisfreespeech.html (yes that's not a typo - *17*)

good alternate text for a sparkline is also an interesting question. E.g. on aaronpks homepage, surely you don't want to announce "3 articles in january 2018, 2 in february, ..." :D (in that case, maybe hiding is best?)

jeremycherfas, I don't think I've ever used backticks on the wiki (in the same way that GitHub allows). An alternate method (for inline use) is to use the <code> tag the way that Chris does on that same page (as an example).

I read something about this lately but I can't remember where. The TL;DR is that there is only one web. We should try to make the one we have better without risk of exclusion on merits like participation in an alternate currency system.

Okay, some choice things to say about people who tag their links "rel="alternative" rather than "rel="alternate"", or don't put semantic information in their links at all and just say "You can read <a href="/atom.xml">my RSS feed</a>" or similar, but the pages from which I could make a good guess at finding RSS and Atom that are linked as participants from http://indiewebcamp.com/irc-people are now checked for inbound links to flutterby.com, and

aaronpk: ben_thatmustbeme left you a message 5 hours, 4 minutes ago: I am trying to catch up on that conversation, but I also have alternate display for "checkin" vs "note-with-geotag" basically.... I add mp-type to all of my micropub clients, since its a micropub control part not something from the post, If you want to do vendor prefix i would say use mp-<vendor>-type http://indiewebcamp.com/irc/2015-03-15/line/1426470271990
