  • If you don't wish to mark it up as an alternate, consider just advertising its link in the header perhaps. Otherwise, if I wanted to subscribe to you, I didn't see where to look for (better browsers and addons give you a button if they found it on the given page viewed) - I had to visit the home page.

  • the version of this that could work as an API would be where I could add it as an alternate destination in my site configuration, so that monocle would see it as an alternative account and all the normal micropub tools would work with it

  • And I meant this more in the form of how there’s the de-facto (although not technically correct) standard of a blog entry linking to the atom feed for the blog itself on the page. Although that’s not even universal, a lot of things use the permalinks’ rel=alternate to point to a comment feed for the entry itself, for example.

  • According the the HTML spec, when you have rel-alternate with types atom or rss, it does "not necessarily syndicating exactly the same content as the current page", so you can put all of your sites feeds listed out on a single page. Or indeed on every page.

  • [snarfed] Looked into this a bit. Not easy. There are many times more `rel="alternate"` links in the average page than `rel="feed"` links, and mf2 parsers don't give us their `types`, so we either have to dig it out of the raw HTML ourselves, or fetch (at leas...

  • [Aaron Parecki] Monocle just got real fancy. I can now set a default account for each channel from which responses should be sent. (Stored in my Microsub server, not in Monocle, so it can work across clients). Monocle recognizes when alternate accounts are available... https://aaronparecki.com/2018/03/08/13/monocle-account-chooser.png

  • Did u know that some browsers make ”an educated guess“ to determine if a <table> is a data table or a layout table? That affects whether or not it is exposed to #a11y APIs. “Browsers look at the number of rows, columns & if the rows alternate in color”!! https://codepen.io/dexterperrin/full/ExYMvRV

  • just got out of meetings. incidentally I’ve finally added my actual-h-feed feed to my pages, if anyone wants to take a look and tell me how I messed up. 🙂 They’re disclosed as `<link rel="alternate" type="text/mf2+html">` and they link to the `everything` page for the category (which has been there for a while and was intended to be my h-feed page), and then the `everything` page itself declares an `h-feed` on the content sect
