GWG, view the source on tantek.com to see how you can do link rel=alternate discovery of my updates feed. I could add another link rel element for the events and articles feeds as well.

So I suggest you to drop that alternate link from the template cause if folks are using autodiscovery to find rss/atom feed they'll end up subscribing to incompatible source

I'm on Location right now. I need to code an alternate reverse geolocation provider. Annoying this happened just as I finally got all the Micropub Android location parameters I wanted.

kevinmarks I definitely support rel-alternate too. Aaron's idea with rel-subscribe though is to streamline the process of clicking a "follow" button and being able to route the user to actually subscribing to the site. This still needs to be a lot easier.

[tantek] the basic problem with multiple feed files is that there's no way to express which is for what reason, at least not automatically. just the human readable "title" attribute on the link rel=alternate

Thanks aaronpk , for the life of me I couldn't find it on your site. I found the JSON feed by looking for you on feedly. I see now that you've got rel=alternate links. Is that a standard? (inside or outside of the IndieWeb community?)

Sorry aaronpk I mean that I'm trying to get Aperture to discover feeds from that URL, but it doesn't work, even though I've got a `<link rel=alternate>`

Anyone here interested in helping me write a FEP (Fediverse Enhancement Proposals) https://codeberg.org/fediverse/fep to use rel-alternate besides conneg https://indieweb.org/conneg and or to implement that in some toolings (cc [snarfed] )

sounds similar to https://github.com/snarfed/bridgy-fed/issues/348 . BF would have to detect that a web site is also an AP actor, either by fetching it with conneg, or by looking for a rel=alternate link with the AP content type

Looks like rel="alternate" is page scoped. So can only use that for the audio version links on permalink pages and not within feeds. Am I right in that reading of the HTML spec, [kevinmarks]?
