I do feel like there's a big difference between things like humans.txt and alternate feed files that are generated by the same source that generates the html

I was looking to it in consideration of advertising other forms of a page after I make it via Micropub tbh but I guess emitting info over `Link` using `rel=alternate` might be enough

I see you also serve a feed file from the wiki, but it would be nice to also mark this up via alternate links in your HTML https://indieweb.org/feed_file#Inefficient_Representation

...a web site with a <link rel="alternate" type="application/atom+xml">, pointing to a URL with path /atom.xml, that serves Content-Type: application/xml...but the body is RSS 🤦♂️

Slightly tempted to add the mf2 version of my h-card as a rel="alternate" type="application/json", and then complain about how feed servers (e.g. Aperture) think that is a feed! :P

ben_thatmustbeme's list is at https://ben.thatmustbe.me/whitelist and is linked from his homepage as rel-alternate, AS2 format apparently: http://stream.thatmustbe.us/?op=mf2-as2&url=https%3A%2F%2Fben.thatmustbe.me%2F%2Fwhitelist

e.g. imagine all the feeds you subscribed to had rel=alternate to ipfs or dat or some other p2p protocols as another way to retrieve them, and you could get them from your local network without even hitting the internet

I searched your domain name. It might pick feed sources in order, grabbing the first rel=alternate with a format it recognizes. You've got them in order: jf2, json, atom

rel alternate seems like a weird choice for cases where you’re linking to a feed from a non-feed profile page, rather than the intended usage of linking to an alternative representation of the same content with a different content type

i can also add alternate nicknames, so when i type @barnaby in a post, it links to your site. and when that's syndiated to twitter it changes it to your twitter username
