ooh ok, interesting. The nginx banner was being served by a webworker. Apparently, I bricked my ssl config and I had to run the certbot again and just reinstall the same certificate

i don't understand where this is failing, but for some reason now the cert autorenewal script isn't triggering nginx to reload. so the new cert is there, but nginx doesn't know about it

Oh great nginx isn't reloading again. The cert renewed and was ready on disk, but nginx hadn't picked it up
