Honestly, this is something that I also like about having a back end and a front end. Mine are fully detached, though even when treated as a single unit, the fact that I can play around with one before the other helps me actually start. Like, I can nail down an editorial workflow on a new feature before worrying about how it will build, or inversely create a page with static content and then think about how to store it all later

Wahaha. I love that page. I do believe I am currently suffering the bottom image. I really should just get started and stop spending so much time in analysis paralysis

^ but I've always liked that principle, and largely stick to it

manual until it hurts is an IndieWeb development practice of resisting automating something until you have manually done it enough times to really understand it, and know that it is worth doing and automating https://indieweb.org/manual_until_it_hurts

I now use Craft CMS to run pretty much everything database related, with a few import options. Still use http://webmention.io, though Craft has recently had a new plugin that would handle webmentions directly that I've been meaning to check out. I also periodically ingest the http://webmention.io feed for my account, saving the data to my database

Yep. Tbh, I still use manual POSSE, because I've found that I prefer to tailor what goes where, and how; it all ends up on my site in some form (though quite a lot of the stuff on socials is currently private only, which is another advantage of having a server
