if you wanted to accomplish something like that, perhaps looking into iframes or javascript/pure-CSS tabs could help mitigate the issue of pageload audio disruption

im split on having page flipping sounds - its difficult (because each page is a new link and audio doesnt play during loading) and it might get annoying after a while

i think that's awesome and i'll throw hands with whoever told you "not normal and is annoying". i think that in particular is a wonderful way to add a sense of tangibility to an otherwise intangible digital site
