  • re Flickr, I know it has a lot of fondness and goodwill in this community due to its history, which is well deserved...but note of caution if you actually want to build with it, its API has seemed pretty stagnant and unmaintained for a while, and it also has a few strange developer-hostile (or at least problematic) features like not serving the `Content-Length` header on its images (!):

  • One thing that came up was serving only `img` tags with a specific image in the RSS version of a post rather than using picture / srcset, then using richer markup on the page itself.
