↩️ Surely we can as an industry create a standard XML for contacts. Yes we have hCard and rel=me from microformats but we don’t have a standard interchangeable way to move social graphs because it’s not in the interest of social media companies to enable portability. #fail

I guess my want/idea/experiment here has another shortcoming, despite this an optional check of sorts, if someone attempted to send a salmention in relation to this, without a expected signed message from the sender, it'd fail what sort of validation this provides

[schmarty]: isn’t that what the separation of client_id and redirect_uri is for, in theory? but I agree regardless, per the spec unfetchable client_id shouldn’t be a hard fail, provided the client_id is otherwise valid

For the outbound port, yes. It will usually present as the samef port from their point of view, but this can limit the number of connections you can serve at once, and if your code leaks ports by not closing them correctly it can make your server fail.
