A friend was asking and seemed to think it required a bunch of external integrations, like with Etsy, Shopify, or APIs. I was pretty sure ours wasn't like that, mostly set it up and it "just runs"

Yeah, it probably isn't useful to preserve (since it was for remixing), and it's part of a quote, which makes modifying it feel odd. Maybe the best thing to do is wrap nowiki around the url to keep it from being a link, and make a note of the reason for doing so?
