For example: since last Sunday (8 days ago) I can now type "@github.com/snarfed" into a post and my auto-linker will hyperlink it to the right place and Bridgy Publish will make sure it shows up as an @-mention on GitHub which will notify you

none of Bridgy*, granary, etc transform arbitrary HTML into Bluesky facets yet. it feels difficult so far. details in GH links ^. I'd love to hear that I'm wrong, see PR(s), etc!

[snarfed] why unlikely? Both Masto nor GH "don't transform plain text @-mentions", however obviously plenty of us are posting on our websites doing both (via a combination of doing the linking ourselves, and/or Bridgy (Fed) helping out with the fedi-translation)

^ GWG same thing here, Bridgy got content ` (https://starrwulfe.xyz/2024/03/finished-reading-damn-good-advice/)` in that micropub request

Ahh yeah. In any case, Snarfed can tell you how it should be looking before Bridgy gets it

we do get many Bridgy / Bridgy Fed bug reports / support questions in #indieweb-dev, certainly enough to merit its own "space"

[Jeremy_Keith] full disclosure (since I think that kind of thing helps people feel less self-conscious), I have been using http://mention.tech to manually send webmentions and syndicate to Masto etc (via Bridgy) myself ever since my past publishing UI "broke" because it had a legacy Twitter login thing that broke which I haven't had time to fix

[gregorlove.com] Nope, only the posts I manually trigger. I think if you wanted to post to this Mastodon account, you would use Bridgy Classic, which has an interactive form: you put in the URL of your post, it fetches the microformats from your post, then it cross-posts (not federates) the post.... [gregorlove.com] AP supports some set of HTML in posts. I'm using Bridgy Fed to federate my posts directly from my site, so it sends those inline links. There's some elements Mastodon doesn't support, but it usually just strips them and the plain text still works well:... (https://gregorlove.com/2024/03/ap-supports-some-set/)
