  • I can answer part of that. yeah, Mastodon requires that the link in the post, it's part of the AP stuff being delegated to that domain

  • In case you can't see the Mastodon posts... try https://fed.brid.gy/r/https://michaelkupietz.com?p=33149 or even a nonexistent ID like https://fed.brid.gy/r/https://michaelkupietz.com?p=98765 . They're all redirecting to post 32703. The site itself is handling the ?p= permalinks correctly if you enter them directly.

  • [snarfed] Also, for sure, all posts syndicated to Mastodon have their https://fed.brid.gy/r/ redirecting to the post https://michaelkupietz.com?p=32703instead instead of the correct posts, even though the links in the Mastodon posts contain the correct ?p= IDs. See https://mastodon.social/@michaelkupietz.com@michaelkupietz.com for examples. All links in the same posts syndicated to BSky

  • [snarfed] basically whenever I'm updating the site, you get a minute or two of slowdowns as the cache flushes and rebuilds everything. The cron job that sends the webmentions runs every 5 minutes... I suppose if I submit a post update at 4 minutes 50 seconds, and the webmention gets sent at 5 minutes, it might still be rebuilding the menu, and if BF tries immediately to fetch the page, it'll time out. So, for the record, BF doesn't

  • I noticed it was showing the WP post ID permalinks in Bridgy Fed, which seemed odd, unless maybe your posts are marking those up as the u-url?

  • also I think [aciccarello] meant that you can click on the "X minutes/hours ago" links on eg https://fed.brid.gy/web/michaelkupietz.com to see the raw logs from each post

  • And apparently BF is redirecting all links from Mastodon posts to my latest syndicated post, regardless of what the link actually is too... oy vey. https://michaelkupietz.com?p=33140 points to the correct post, but https://fed.brid.gy/r/https://michaelkupietz.com?p=33140 points to a different post.

  • [Michael_Kupiet] happy to look if you have an example post that didn't work

  • Apologies for the duplicate post to Indienews. Still working out the ins & outs of how all this stuff works.

  • My access to BF's info seems minimal... I have a page at https://fed.brid.gy/web/michaelkupietz.com that shows the posts that have been syndicated, and not much else. Also, I just changed the skipped post's type from a WP custom "blog post" post type to a regular post, and suddenly it syndicated, even though "blog post" posts had previously syndicated.
