There is a task to migrate to doctrine. My goal is to move the schema over to a "config as code" model, where the schema is represented as a JSON, and managed by doctrine for whatever underlaying database people use (maria, postgres, etc). This is how I've done things elsewhere in some very large scale systems, and it works well. Some of that code is open source so I can probably migrate it.

I have now installed the Velox theme on my local WP, with a view to resurrecting an old niche site that I have neglected for years, and I am completely befuddled by the block editor. I'm really not sure I want to learn how it works. But then again, is the classic editor going to be around forever?

the problem is i'll need to do a whole bunch of stuff like make a good readme and docs, ideally make a landing page for it, and create a better installer experience like I did for Meetable. also make sure it works on Heroku

I'm trying to understand what h-card is and how it works. The examples on the wiki use <a class="h-card">, but in the wild I see <span class="h-card"> and others

we build these panopticon services of power like facebook, twitter, gmail, etc where users dont have to know how it works -- if they did they would be repulsed!

The webmentions protocol is in a standards track, but the Big Boys (Reddit, Twitter, Facebook, Medium, etc) will never implement it because it's extra work for them that does not give them any benefit, in fact, it could hurt them because it works _against_ their interests to lock users into their platform.

Okay so I’ve just added the whoosh full-text index to Publ and it works amazingly well. But now I’m trying to figure out, from an API standpoint, if I should expose the search result metadata, or if it should just be a list of entries. Does anyone have any strong opinions? I don’t really see the value in exposing the actual metadata except for extreme nerdiness, like I don’t see the user story for letting people know the match score or
