BTW, re: SVGs and styling, this is the sort of thing I mean regarding SVGs. It keeps it more lightweight and smooth than using an image in the same role, and it is not in the DOM

...But yeah, on my own website, I would localise the HTML and not use JSON. The JSON has specific uses limited to webapps and drawbacks in SEO and usability. So it's really just for on-the-fly switching when you don't want separate pages

It could be useful to people presenting multilingual content on a static site, but it's kinda specific to when there is interactivity involved. So I dunno how much of that would be indie dev activities
