yep, I think I’m slowly getting a sense of how it works. never worked with bigquery before and my attempts to tweak your queries to do what I wanted didn’t work out so far xD

after peering down the activitypub rabbit hole enough to know i am not leaping in today, i instead started playing with running my own instance of Meridian (https://latl.ong/) and... it works! It also reminded me how painful getting ruby dependencies installed can be lol

okay, tested it manually and it works, I’m getting a twitter auth error rather than an xray parameters missing error when making a twitter.com parse() call with the twitter creds in the default options

[Jamie_Tanna] yup, that's how it works, you just search for @domain@domain on any instance

Ah fair play. Thanks! Hoping to allow folks to subscribe to me within their Mastodon server, or is that not how it works?

afaik indiewebify.me doesn’t always follow and parse external pages, it works mostly with the microformats markup on one particular page

If you're looking for an alternative to @twitter, please try a server on the #fediverse. Mastodon is the flagship, but there's lots of servers. Like http://indieweb.social. #TwitterMigration The difference in how it works matters.

thanks KatherineMoss[m]. I'm going to test it on my own site first, and assuming it works / doesn't cause problems, I'll suggest it as a change to the Bridgy Publish / Fed docs

also because the username and webfinger part isn't actually in the activitypub spec so what you're really asking is whether it "works" with mastodon and things that have been made to work like mastodon 😂
