Recreated the new RSS Feed widget while both plugins were off, and it worked. Turned them both on, checking after each one was on, but the new blog post stayed in the list. So, that somehow refreshed the widget/RSS feed connection. Jetpack seemed to not be the culprit.

@gRegor, thank you! I assumed the Quiet blog post wasn't showing up in the feed due to not showing up in the RSS Feed widget.

The "Recent Posts" widget in the page footer is showing that post though, so comparing those two might help

Maybe you mean the sidebar? I see under "RSS Blog Feed" that widget isn't showing the "In the Quiet" post. That post is in the RSS feed itself, though, so might be something wrong with the widget. Do you have any more information about that widget, like if it's from a plugin? Might be more info under the Appearances menu, I think that's where widgets are.
