I'm trying to syndicate to Mastodon. I set up Bridgy Fed and it works fine but realized the "normal" syndication would be better for my use case. When I click "Enable publishing" on Bridgy's page it takes me to a Mastodon error page with "We're sorry, but something went wrong on our end." I tried a different instance and got the same error. I wonder if I'm missing something? Twitter publish/backfeed works without problems.

it's a lower pressure way to comment, and it works pretty well and part of what makes tumblr unique

If it works for you, great. I don't think unmung does a lot of caching in those paths so it may not be great to poll it too often

I found a new source for backlinks: I've been using https://f5bot.com/ <https://f5bot.com/dash> for a while to get alerts is my site is mentioned on HN or Reddit. It sends an email when it maches search criterias, so I added an email hook in integromat, extracted the html links from it, fetched the sites, checked for any of my site domains, and sent those to webmention.io. I experimented a bit with "recursive reply-contexts" today. But instead of "Salmention" I let the reply ping every other post recursively. This of course produces a problem with "reply chain". With 2 test pages it works fine, if I bring in a third one the display of replies doesn't work well anymore.
