a bit of a tangent but I'm considering changing the user site "snapshots" feature (git repo commits) to be only the text files (.md .txt .css .js) and not everything (e.g. images, PDFs) because 1. git doesn't do well with large binary files, and 2. server space

if you want a scrappy look but still dig monospace you could try courier

part of the reason I like monospace for blip.town is that it gives it a "scrappy" feel, not trying to be polished

'm looking around the varius pages and i find the monospace too thin to read in some sections, which i do think is a problem with some typefaces
