I really like http://pair.com but that's a function of being a customer long enough that my account can buy alcohol in the usa. They do offer WP centric hosting which I believe meets the criteria Matt just described. My usage is more quixotic because I host several dozen domains/subdomains

If I was looking for a host that wasn’t either of those I’d be looking for a host that has snapshots, daily backups and automatic updates. Bonus if they’re focused on WordPress.

Yeah I’m thinking about ways people can keep using WordPress without having to expose any of it to the public internet.

[mattl] (from #indieweb-dev) some WP caching plugins have a mode where they save rendered pages to disk as HTML and then serve from there

Maybe someone knows of a plugin that does this but I don’t think there is one. A plugin that “publishes” your WordPress site via SFTP or just to another path on the filesystem.

most IndieWeb examples for WordPress do not list their hosting provider. of those i was able to find, i saw no more than one person for each of wp-dot-com, 1&1 hosting, and dreamhost. 😅
