I already dislike the experience part, given everything is an "experience" now. My banking app is an experience. Needing to talk to a service is an experience. Sure it is, unforgettable ones, they are.

Also, it's subtle, but in a few of the linked articles, a justification for the move falls under these lines (to quote): "We Design for More Humans than Just Users." Sure, yes, and perhaps this is overly paranoid, but that just reeks of "corporate needs are equal to user needs" to me.

Am I the only one that sees "human experience" as a much greater level of "othering" than "user experience"? I agree that "user" is misused, negatively so in many contexts (I agree with the W3C's attempts to rip it out of official language). But replacing it with "human" feels like something the Borg would do ๐
