  • I saw images online of a http://wordpress.org login screen that has a checkbox confirming the person logging in is not affiliated iwth WP Engine. I figured it was a joke, but nope, it's real. So, fortunately I was within the 2 week return time, cancelled my http://wp.com sub and started a Lightsail instance. But, to be honest, I'll probably head to Ghost as soon as they get ActivityPub working

  • Installing it was a bit annoying, but looks like they haven't really been able to do much to overcome that in the last 20 years. It's Perl so permissions are a bit more precise than WordPress, and the rest is history.
