Glad it got sorted out! Yeah sometimes plugins interfere in odd ways and it can be tricky to figure out which one and how. My only other thought is if you have a caching plugin like W3 Total Cache or similar, try clearing the cache for that plugin

AgRegor, to answer your RSS widget question: the widget was in the Appearance section part of WordPress. It wasn't from a plugin itself. It was one of the widget options.

Recreated the new RSS Feed widget while both plugins were off, and it worked. Turned them both on, checking after each one was on, but the new blog post stayed in the list. So, that somehow refreshed the widget/RSS feed connection. Jetpack seemed to not be the culprit

Okay, so I tried to delete and recreate the RSS Feed widget several times, same issue. Started poking around Jetpack settings. Then it's AI gave me tech support. One of the things it told me was to deactivate the other plugins and leave Jetpack activated. So I did. There's only 2 other plug ins
