I think both of you would agree on independent news, but that the author of the post *would not*. Personally it sounds like his approach builds a wall between himself and outside opinions (because he is restricting himself to a limited number of outlets that likely pre-aligns with his existing views) much in the same way that silos and algorithms/AI do.
