I've also recently been getting some mixed webmention comments from brid.gy. Generally I've been fixing them manually, but I need to spend some time sorting out what's actually causing the issue. I suspect it's happening on the WordPress side, and it's only about 1 in every 20 webmentions, so it hasn't been horrible.

i think readers will end up sorting by the published date of the post so you should be fine

if there's an updated field, sorting will be based on that, so that it will go up to the top, but sorting won't include a corrected field so that won't change the sorted position
