  • Yeah, it's a spectrum and neither philosophy works perfectly. I *used* to use Instagram to publish my photos, then syndicate *back* to my website, but since they changed the API access, I just no longer post to Instagram, because getting *my* data out is too difficult.

  • POSSE vs PESOS is sort of an odd spectrum. One thing I find is that sometimes I think of an Instagram as a PESOS source, and sometimes I think of it as a POSSE target. If I prepare the post in my text file or whatever, then post to both at the same time, it's sort of both. And yes, Strava data is by its nature PESOS because the "source" data is not the post, it's the value-added by Strava, where they turn raw data into a post, location,

  • [jeremycherfas] I know just what you mean. That’s why I don’t automatically POSSE my posts because of that dynamic you mentioned. The analogy I’ve used for people that post to a bunch of forums without actually interacting with anyone there is like showing up to a house party and not talking to anyone there, just handing out flyers for your own get together.

  • https://www.morganwebdev.org/posts/wcag-open-source-contribution/ A little bit of blowing my own 🎺 but a post on my website about making an open source contribution to the WCAG project that went really well. Basically a lot of the issues are very formal and years-long committee like issues that need work from a lot of angles but I got in there and found a low hanging fruit 🍎 , hope it provides some inspiration to others

  • I haven't had time to read through the full post so I'm not sure I can give good feedback. Generally, though, if you feel like you want to add something to a post it's a good idea to try and see if it helps add to the flow that you are trying to achieve.
