aaronpk: Wait aren't you the one I am seeing people reference that puts the whole site behind authentication using nginx? Would that be a better option ? Would this create the ability for them to create their own user and login?

in my very limited user testing with a few individual web devs, making DNS changes is a bigger barrier than editing an nginx config.
