@btrem (https://matrix.to/#/%40irc_libera_btrem%3Amtx.bacardi55.io) In case you don't know, you can use a \ at the end of the line in your markdown to add a <br> (like you, I remove all spaces at the end of the line, so that's the way it works for me)

I'd check that it works locally e.g. launch the `index` file. Is that definitely in the root? How did you upload? Drag'n'drop the folder?

[Murray] it works surprisingly well! Obsidian has the best markdown editor I've tried so far, and it's only a little annoying to use on mobile. Getting the Obsidian client (graphical) to run on a non-graphical server was a bit of a pain though, but it had to be done since I was already paying for Obsidian Sync 😄

It works ok, but I find that I repeat myself a lot. For example, if I make a jar of pickles one week, and make another jar a week later, most of the recipe is the same. I could make a single recipe for each type (a pickle post, a sauerkraut post, etc.). But then I lose the variation which can affect the result.

I only posse to Mastodon, so I use the "Share on Mastodon" plugin. It works well with the IndieBlocks syndication block

microformat – it works for what you want? I mean, what else would an outwardly-facing bookmark _be_, if not a pseudonym for a "share"?

If it works for day jobs, it's good enough for personal projects!

To circle back on my Postgres question from yesterday, I set up a cron job to `pg_dump` a copy of my database every 4 hours, which I can FTP to my local machine when needed (and also use as a backup). From there, I cobbled together a bash script that drops the local copy of the database and uses the dumped file to restore a copy. It’s a bit hacky, but it works.
