Re: much impact. I don’t think the IndieWeb should be measured by how many people it is reaching. It should be measured in how much people feel that having a website is useful to them. For me, having a website has fundamentally changed the way I use the web, and I suspect many people in here would attest to how much personal significance their site has had.

Making a website isn’t appealing to everyone, but there are certainly many people here and in the wider community who aren’t working in tech and have websites.

These are good questions. I don’t think it’s good to measure the IndieWeb by the growth of any technology. What matters most is people seeing websites as a way to express some part of themselves.

we don't try too hard to do that precisely. we're generally pretty big tent, we include anyone with their own web site. ideally on their own domain, but we're not strict or exclusive. so, arguably a big chunk of the web

hiya! im trying to make a contact form on a static site so im using a html form and web3forms. everything works fine except that after submitting the form, web3forms redirects to a silly "submitted successfully" page and nothing in the docs is actually working for me when i try to turn it off ;-; any ideas?

[capjamesg] as a new member in the community this is my reading of it, too. The tools and protocols being secondary to the ethos. I recently made an /indieweb page on my site, on it I said "Joining the movement is easy. If you have a personal website, you are already on the IndieWeb."

There are hundreds of thousands of websites on Neocities, for example, that don’t have custom domains, or rel=me, etc. and yet are a vibrant part of the community.
