  • I think I need to set up test bluesky and mastodon accounts to better test robustness. I tend to run live fire tests and delete the failures which emphasizes "it's working, stop changing code!" over "it's working, let's simulate more failures to assure robustness"

  • I have a question, please. I use a system for a captcha on all my forms where to submit the form, people have to type in the title of the post (the h1 at the top) into one of the form fields. However, it seems to work for some people and not others, but it always works for me when I try to test it. Is there something I'm missing or not making clear? I got webmentions working tonight, and haven't even posted it yet except for a passing mention on here and one test with http://beatonma.org, and already got webmention spam, less than 15 minutes after the one successful test, on a hidden page that isn't even linked from anywhere or indexed on Google.

  • The Prettier complaint is about the formatting of the test files. There's no output saying _what_ is wrong, but if I were to guess (looking at existing test files) it's because you indented the HTML with tabs instead of two spaces, and because you formatted single-valid arrays across multiple lines. It should be pretty easy to satisfy it.

  • me personally? i am not sure what i wish to advocate for, although as you say a test suite probably can't hurt, unless it's testing for the wrong things. so having a processing model for activities is probably needed, but if people just ignore activities entirely then they'll ignore that too.
